Curriculum
First Year
We operate mixed ability classes. As we believe students should start their second level education with plenty of variety, First Year students take the following subjects for the whole year:

Second Year
Two subjects are dropped. Usually, students take two subjects from the following three groups:
Home Economics Business Studies Art or Music
Students choose Higher or Ordinary level in Gaeilge and Mathematics.

Learning support is available in Reading and Mathematics throughout the three years.

Fifth Year
We take a student-centred approach to subject options, because the needs of students vary from year to year. In the Spring preceding Fifth Year, following an information evening for parents and students, the students are surveyed to see what subjects they wish to take. The subject options are then made out to suit them, using a computerised system which offers the highest possible satisfaction rate.
We place particular emphasis on trying to ensure that classes are not large, and for Gaeilge, English and Mathematics we have separate Higher and Ordinary level classes. Students take seven examination subjects and may opt to take Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme as an extra examination subject.

In addition, students have Career Guidance, Religion and an option including Choir, Physical Education and Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme. Whenever possible we offer some Learning Support in English and Mathematics in Fifth and Sixth Year.
