Munster School Debating Win, 'Cork Pops' Outing, Christmas Play 21st November 2010 UCC Debating Our senior debating tea Eilis O’Keeffe, Megan Daly and Sarah Fitzgerald have won the most recent round of the Munster Schools’ Debates, run by UCC Philosophical Society. Eilis and Megan, the latter of whom filled in for an ill Sarah, gave excellent performances on Thursday November 18th in Rockwell College, Tipperary against a field of seven other schools. Ard Scoil will now proceed to the semi finals in December. Well done to the girls and their mentor Mrs Evelyn Simons. First Years Go to “Cork Pops” On Friday November 12th the first year students, accompanied by music teacher Mrs Ciara Lucey and Year Head Mrs Margaret Dennehy, travelled to Cork to see a performance of the “Cork Pops Orchestra”. After lunch and some retail therapy, they headed to the Cork City Hall to enjoy a musical treat, which blended classical music with the Hip Hop stylings of Cork rapper and producer GMC. The girls thoroughly enjoyed this superb musical outing! Musical Play: Ebeneezer Mrs Dennehy, with Mrs Lucey and Ms Pickering, is rehearsing the girls as they prepare their own show when they will perform “Ebeneezer”, a musical play, for Christmas!
