Parent's Council AGM

The Parents’ Council held their A.G.M. recently. Teresa Daly was elected Chairperson and Michael Sheehan and Denise O’Brien accepted nominations to stay on  as secretary and treasurer respectively. We are extremely appreciative of the hard work and commitment of our council. We would like to extend a warm welcome to the new members who have joined us this year.

I would like to thank Maurice |Power (outgoing Chairperson) for his loyalty and dedication to the Ard Scoil. Through his leadership our fundraising was hugely successful despite these harsh economic times. I wish Teresa Daly and her new committee every success for the new academic year.

First Year Cross Country

The annual 1st year cross country event was held on Friday, September 24th. Teams of eight runners competed with each other for individual and team honours. From the start, Cliona Ryan (1.1 ) went into a commanding lead which she never relinquished and came home a clear leader. Class 1.2 ran very well as a team to take the team event. Well done to all who took part and to the T.Y. students who helped to run the event.

The athletes showed the foundations for a very talented team. Thanks to coach Mrs. Ashe.
