Board of Management Vacancy 8th September, 2010 Dear Parents/Guardians, The Board of Management of Ard Scoil na nDéise has a vacancy for one year. One of our Parent Representatives, Mr. Raymond Moloney, is obliged to retire from the Board because his daughter Aislinn has graduated. We would like to thank Raymond most sincerely for the great work he has done on the Board of Management for the last two years. Parents are entitled to two representatives on the Board – it is desirable to have a male and a female. Marion de Búrca will continue as a parent representative, so it would be appropriate to nominate a new male candidate. The parent representative must be parents/guardians of students who are presently enrolled in the school. The Board of Management consists of four Trustee representatives, two parent and two teacher members. As the Board is a corporate body, parent and teacher members do not act in a representational capacity. Board members must be prepared to attend ordinary and extraordinary meetings of the Board (approximately once a month), attend pre-service and in service courses, take a full part in the important work of the Board and maintain strict confidentiality. Nominations should be on the form below and returned to the school by Wednesday, 15th September, 2010. Please ensure that the parent you nominate is willing to serve on the Board of Management and attend all meetings. If more than one nominee is proposed, an election will take place at the Parents’ A.G.M. on Tuesday, September 21st and the nominees must be present at this meeting.
