Parents' Council AGM on Tuesday The A.G.M. of the Parents’ Council will be held on Tuesday 29th of September at 7.30 p.m. and all parents of Ard Scoil na nDéise students are encouraged to attend. Mrs Jean Geoghegan of the School Development Planning Initiative will facilitate a short consultation on a review of the school’s mission statement, and this will be followed by the business of the A.G.M. Since we already have parents who would be willing to take on the positions of Chairperson etc. new parents on the Council would not be asked to do that work this year. Fundraising for the school is always essential, but the Parents’ Council is actively involved in all major occasions which take place in our school. For example, our pantomime “Goldilocks and the Three Bears” will be staged in late November, and parents’ help will be needed on the nights of the show. It is important that we have a number of parents of every student year group on the Parents’Council and many hands make light work! The Board of Management is indebted to the very hardworking Parents’ Council of Ard Scoil na nDéise who work so hard every year with Mrs Colette Power, Deputy Principal, to ensure that our students can benefit from many extra opportunities in the school. If you could spare a little time to help please fill in the form already sent out to every family or contact the school office. Many thanks to the large numbers of Transition Year parents and students who attended the Transition Year Information Night last Tuesday. It is great to see the wonderful level of interest and support shown by parents as the students begin this busy year. We look forward to our Welcome Evening on Thursday, September 24th at 7.30p.m.
