Computer Facilities
Computer Resources
 The computer facilities of Ard Scoil na nDéise have grown enormously over the past few years. We have a computer room with 32 modern networked machines along with printing and scanning facilities. There are in the region of 20 other computers throughout the school in Science labs, staff room, library, resource rooms, career guidance office, etc.
Internet & Computer Literacy
Our internet access is broadband, and wireless internet access is available in both buildings. Each student is authenticated on logon and can store her files in her own private storage area. Computer literacy is taught to all Junior classes and is offered, as an option, to Seniors. All students have access to our facilities during free time. A laptop is available for student use in the foyer of the Senior building.
Implementing New Technologies
Computers are also finding their way into previously uncharted territory, with many teachers now using laptops and data projectors as an aid to the their teaching. One very successful story has been the installation of a Tablet PC, data projector and sound facilities in our demonstration room. All Fifth and Sixth Year Higher Level Maths classes, and some Science classes, are now being taught using this Tablet PC which is enhancing the teaching of Maths and Science in many ways. We shall continue to implement new technologies as they become available and prove themselves to be of benefit to our students.
European Computer Driving Licence
The Ardscoil is an accredited ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence) centre and offers the ECDL to all Transition Year students. This course has proven itself to be extremely successful and popular since it began four years ago.
