Ard Scoil Events - November & December 2009 Dear Parents/Guardians, I would like to thank all parents and friends of Ard Scoil na nDéise who supported our very successful table quiz last Thursday night. It raised €1,475 for the school, and we are most grateful for the wonderful response to our request for prizes. Many thanks to the quiz organisers, to the Parents’ Council and to Mrs Colette Power, Deputy Principal, for all the work involved. The Parents’ Council members were busy again on Friday night, as they provided delicious refreshments at our 13th Annual Awards Night. We really appreciate their work during this very busy term. I would like to remind you about the Meeting on Parenting which takes place tomorrow night, Tuesday, November 17th in the Senior Hall at 7.00 p.m. Parenting can sometimes be a very challenging role in our lives, and we welcome a little help with it! I would encourage as many parents as possible to attend. On Wednesday, November 18th at 7.30 p.m. the Festival of Food Christmas Cookery Demonstration will take place in the Park Hotel. Our Senior Choir will provide the entertainment at this event and we have some tickets on sale at the school (€15 each). As the Third Year Parent Teacher Meeting is on Thursday, November 19th at 1.30 p.m. classes will finish that day at 12.55 p.m. Supervised study will take place from 1.30 p.m. to 3.30 p.m. on Thursday in the Junior Hall. Our Pantomime “Goldilocks and the Three Bears” will run each night from Wednesday, December 2nd until Saturday, December 5th at 7.30 p.m. with the matinee on the Saturday afternoon at 2.30 p.m. Tickets are now available at the school office. They cost €10 for adults, €8 for children and students. Tickets for the matinee cost €8 for both adults and children. Christmas exams for Third and Sixth Year students will begin in the week of December 14th. Yours sincerely,
